2. Dash diet
The Dash diet was primarily developed to combat hypertension. It stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. Nevertheless, it provides an excellent guideline for losing weight and burning fat. The basic principle behind it is to lower sodium intake and fill up your diet with healthy fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low fat dairy products.
Here’s what a typical day on the Dash diet looks like:
- Breakfast: Whole wheat bagel with unsalted peanut butter
- AM Snack: One orange
- Lunch: Baked chicken and mixed green salad with raspberry vinaigrette.
- PM Snack: Wheat crackers,
- Dinner: Herb crusted whitefish and French beans.
